Boulder, CO, November 8, 2006 — Cycling’s Golden Age, the stunningphotographic celebration of cycling history, will make its California debutat VeloSwap San Francisco, the state’s largest consumer cycling and triathlonshow. The event will host three California-based sports experts,with a heart rate training coach, a sport psychologist, and a cycling historian. VeloSwap San Francisco is Saturday, November 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.at the San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center and will host 200 vendorsand 5,000 attendees.Cycling'sGolden Age: Heroes of the Postwar Era, 1946-1967, features hundredsof restored photos, jerseys, and trophies from the San Francisco-basedHorton Collection, the world's most astonishing trove of cycling memorabilia. Native Californian author and cycling historian Owen Mulholland will bepresent to autograph copies of the new book and to answer questions.Top heart rate training coach Sally Edwards will give two presentationsat the VeloSwap. First, she will discuss the benefits and methodology oftraining with a heart rate monitor. Edwards will give a second presentationon women's triathlon. Edwards is the author of many training books, includingthe recently published HeartZones Cycling: The Avid Cyclist's Guide to Riding Faster and Fartherand Triathlonsfor Women. Her training and fitness education company, Heart Zones,is based in Sacramento.Dr. Jim Taylor is an Ironman triathlete and leading sport psychologist.His workshop, which is based on his book, TheTriathlete's Guide to Mental Training, will focus on the six mentalfactors that most affect performance: motivation, confidence, intensity,focus, emotions, and pain.
