I'm a real cycling fan and a real cyclist. I hate jewelry, and yes, I feel slightly dorky wearing the bracelet. But I wear it for the same reason a lot of people do: Someone close to me has cancer. Let's not forget that those bracelets have raised millions of dollars to aid cancer research and cancer survivors.

Try a European vacation for cycling coverage
Editor:
I share in the disappointment over the lack of cycling coverage. Nine-bajillion DirecTV channels, and virtually no cycling.
While in Europe last year I was thrilled with the abundance of cycling on TV, as well as beaucoup coverage of European soccer. DirecTV now has tons of soccer, whereas 20 years ago there was very little soccer on American TV.
Hopefully we won't have to wait 20 years for more cycling coverage in America. But in the meantime, visit Europe, and time your afternoon trips to your hotel room with the Mrs. around cycling coverage.

Witty Wells should be working the road
Editor:
If anybody heard me laughing out loud while I read Todd Wells’ diary alone in my office, they must have thought I was crazy. Wells may like mountain biking better, but he should be in Europe road racing. A guy with his witty communication skills on that stage would promote U.S. cycling better than anything else.

Regarding ‘A Fred’s-Eye View’ of Texas drivers

Back when Texas was a blue state we had road signs that said "Drive Texas Friendly."

NORBA’s not dead yet
Editor:
The rumors of NORBA's death are greatly exaggerated. After talking to the pros and the industry folk at last weekend's NORBA race at Tapatio Springs, Texas and seeing the number of competitive cyclists racing in the field (from 21-year-old Trent Lowe to 39-year-old Alison Sydor), I'd say NORBA is not only off life support but it's been discharged from the hospital as well.
