VeloNews.com looking for a Web Programmer/Developer
VeloNews.com seeks web programmer/developer for its high-profile Web site. Successful candidate would be responsible for Web site maintenance, site design/architecture/presentation, and application development. Must have three to five years' experience with Internet-based businesses and strong knowledge of the Internet, emerging technologies and computers, including:
- Experience maintaining high traffic websites > 1MM page views daily. Experience with a load-balanced web architecture a plus.
- Expert Drupal experience is necessary, and should be well versed on module development and best-practice programming techniques.
- Expert PHP/MySQL experience, and should be able to work with pre-existing software. Should be able to track slow database queries and understand relational databases and data abstraction.
- Linux/shell experience including cron, shell scripting and performance analysis, should be able to evaluate memory usage and load averages on the servers.
- Apache configuration and maintenance experience.
- Experience with Cross-Browser XHTML, Javascript DOM and CSS
- Working understanding of web ad trafficking, traffic predicting and Google Analytics, RSS, WAP a plus
