Lance Armstrong hit the wind-tunnel this week in San Diego to further prepare for his return to racing, but he didn’t provide any more clues on whether or not he’d be starting the Tour de France.

The seven-time Tour winner remains uncommitted toward racing in July, telling The Associated Press that he still hasn’t made a definitive decision on whether he’ll start the 2009 Tour.

“I want to say I’m not trying to be coy. I’m not playing games with them [the Tour] or with fans or with media. I simply don't know,” Armstrong said Tuesday during wind tunnel testing at the San Diego Air & Space Technology Center. “I’m not in a hurry. It’s Nov. 4.”

Armstrong, 37, admitted that Tour officials haven’t rolled out the red carpet since he announced in September he would return to elite competition since retiring in 2005.

“I know there is tension. There is tension with French cycling fans, with French media and certainly tension with the organizers,” he continued. “And right now I don't want to deal with tension. And I don't know if I want to deal with tension in July.”

Armstrong has already committed to racing at the Tour Down Under, the Tour of California and the Giro d’Italia.

He also told reporters that he would race the Tour of Flanders, the Ardennes classics as well as Criterium International and the Circuit de la Sarthe.
