Pearl Izumi has answered the challenge of fall and winter cycling with the Shine Shoe Cover, which lets riders keep their feet warm and be more visible to motorists when cycling after sunset.

Pearl Izumi took its top-of-the-line winter bootie, 3mm of neoprene with microfleece lining, and added a powerful LED lighting system powered by a watch battery. Like most bike light systems, it has two modes, blinking and steady state. Run time is 100 hours in steady state and 200-plus while blinking. And the LED system is detachable, which comes in handy when you’re riding during daylight or your booties need a bath.

The anatomic paneling provides a customized fit to prevent restricted motion. Though they work best with road cleats, the rubber soles are durable for a long life.
