Published: Nov. 18, 2008
Ric Hjerberg is leaving FSA, where has has worked for six years, most recently as technology manager.
Hjertberg got his start in the bicycle business when he opened the Wheelsmith retail store in Palo Alto in 1975 with his brother Jon. Wheelsmith evolved into a spoke and wheel company.
He told VeloNews that he expects to spend more time focused on Wheel Fanatyk, a company/blog that sells wooden rims. He also is the U.S. agent for a Japanese spoke cutting and threading machine and has other projects in the works.
"I've got at least four projects in the incubator that will keep me occupied," he said.
