Todd Wells (GT Bicycles) and Amanda Miller (Mesa Cycles) took the wins on the second day of Iowa City's Carousel Volkswagen Jingle Cross Rock, on a day when overnight snow turned the course's Mt. Krumpit descent into a muddy bog that looked more like a bobsled run.

On the first lap Andy Jacques-Maynes took the perfect line on the treacherous off camber Mt. Krumpit hillside and pulled away from the field. Meanwhile, Saturday's winner Troy Wells (Clif Bar) had mechanical difficulties and difficult footing through that section and fell back to the field.

His brother Todd (GT) followed Jacques-Maynes in hot pursuit followed by Steve Tilford.

Todd Wells caught Jacques-Maynes at the base of Mt. Krumpit and ascended the long muddy climb creating a narrow lead and then extending his advantage with a strong descent down the steep southern face. Jacques-Maynes hung close for a couple of laps but could not close the gap.

Todd Wells won Rock 2. His win, combined with placing runner-up to his brother on Saturday, made him the weekend's overall men's champion.

Miller took the early lead and plowed her way down the steep ice and snow covered Mt. Krumpit mudbog with exception bike handling skills.

Her blistering pace in the tricky numerous other technical areas separated her quickly from the rest of the field and she won by a comfortable margin. Josie Jacques-Maynes tumbled down Mt. Krumpit once or twice but was able to stay upright most of the time to claim second place. Sidney Brown (Midwest Cycling Community) finished a strong third.
