Katie Compton (Planet Bike) won her sixth career cyclocross World Cup this weekend in Nommay, France.

Compton battled with World Champion Marianne Vos for most of the race, said Compton's husband and manager Mark Legg.

Compton's Sixth: Vos got a gap after Compton had a short spill, but Compton came back and trucked on ahead.

"It rained the day before the race, which caused the track to be a little slick in the corners and a little heavier, which made Vos work despite sitting in the draft," Legg said.

"Vos attacked Katie after Katie slipped on an off-camber section, which actually worked to Katie's advantage as it forced Vos to attack and overextend herself. Katie comfortably covered the attack then went to the front and kept the pace high until Vos cracked," he said.
