Biography

One half of one of cycling’s rare racing twins (Alexandre of Quick Step-Innergetic is the other half), Efimkin surged onto the international stage in 2007. A quiet, hard-working rider, Efimkin stayed in the background after moving to Italy as many of his fellow compatriots snagged early headlines. That changed in 2007 when he wore the leader’s jerseys in both the Tour de Suisse and Vuelta a España, eventually finishing sixth in both races. He’ll assume more responsibility with the move to Ag2r-La Mondiale.
