Biography

Gusev is as good with languages as he is in time trials: he speaks five (Russian, English, Italian, French and German). Gusev has been a professional since 2004, spending two years each at Team CSC and Discovery Channel before moving to Astana in 2008. At the 2006 Paris-Roubaix, Gusev finished fourth but was later one of three riders disqualified for riding though closed train crossing.
