Biography

Txurruka indirectly benefited when Michael Rasmussen was withdrawn from the Tour; with Alberto Contador wearing the yellow jersey because of Rasmussen's withdrawal, and Mauricio Soler wearing the polka-dot jersey as the King of the Mountains, Txurruka wore the White Jersey for Best Young Rider. He was also chosen as the most combative rider of whole Tour, being the third Spanish rider (after Óscar Pereiro and David de la Fuente) in a row to earn that award.
