Kelly Benefit Strategies-Medifast found success in its first year in 2007 by winning the USPRO criterium championship. Team director — and former all-star sprinter — Jonas Carney put his young team on the front with 10 laps to go. It paid off when Martin Gilbert came across the line first. For 2008, the team has beefed up its roster with the additions of climber Andy Bajadali and sprinter Alex Candelario, both from Jelly Belly.
